OIA will compile the name lists for overseas students who might not be able to return in time to the University for the fall semester of the academic year 2021 in time. All departments are requested to assist students arrange their courses. All professors should continue to provide remote learning courses, to keep on studying.
To decrease the burden of domestic pandemic prevention, the infection risks of group gatherings in class, and to prevent influencing the personal coordination of the university, faculty and staff need to be cautious and evaluate the necessity and urgency of overseas trip by the following principals: A. All business trips should be temporarily put on hold. B. It is strongly advised against making a personal trip. Faculty and staff need to ask for the university’s approval beforehand in the case of making an overseas trip due to urgency and necessity. Upon their return, it is mandated to follow the government regulations.
The alert level nationwide has been raised to level three. Health Bauru of the Taichung City Government announced, as of today (May 19th), all citizens including foreigners must wear a mask outdoors at all times. According to Subparagraph 3, Paragraph 1 of Article 70 of the Communicable Disease Control Act: any person who disobeys the advice of wearing a mask shall be fined NT$ 3,000 up to NT$ 15,000 upon violation. To keep our campus safe during the pandemic and to follow above-mentioned principals, all faculty, staff and students should wear a mask at all times while visiting campus. Starting today, all indoor gatherings exceeding 5 people and outdoor gatherings exceeding 10 people are prohibited. All faculty, staff and students should continuously self-monitor their own health. If there is a slight symptom, please seek medical attention as soon as possible.
